Chinese grooming, art or puppy explotation?

Someone sent me this pic of Chow Chow pups who have been professionally groomed to resemble Pandas.
I have mixed feelings about this. I think they look adorable! On the other hand it was done specifically for exhibition ...in a ZOO.
Is a zoo really the place for puppies?
As a former groomer, I am impressed with the skill of grooming being done in China. What do you think?
